Event Description:
In Zin’s 6-week beginner series you will learn how the mind, body and breath work together to form what a yoga practice can mean to you. You’ll learn what yoga is, where it came from This beginner’s series places you with beginners just like yourself. Plus, if you haven’t already heard, a major theme in yoga is non-judgment. The yoga classroom is a safe environment for you to explore you, with guidance from a supportive teacher. 


FOR: The series is for the absolute beginner or student somewhat new wanting a deeper introduction.

START DATE: January 6th, 2018 @ 12:00pm (Can the person working be here at 11:45 to help me check in and help the 1030 people leave).

TIME: 12pm-1pm every Saturday for 6 weeks.

TEACHER: Allison Williamson

COST: $80 for entire 6-week series 

WHAT TO BRING: Yoga mat. (Bottled water & hand towel come in handy as well). 

YOGA MATS: Manduka mats are available to use in class without additional cost, however when developing a practice it’s helpful to stay with the same mat. Depending on the mat, it can take time to “break in” from body’s natural oils.



Week 1: 
-Introductions to the classroom, props, teacher and peers. 
-Yoga History/Philosophy (Each week you will be introduced to parts of the ‘8 Limbs of Yoga,’ which are practices used to lead a healthy and fulfilling existence.)
-Standing Poses 
-Breathe Awareness & Alignment (which will continued to be emphasized throughout the series)

Week 2:
-Seated Postures 

Week 3:
-Cumulative Review 
-Spine flexibility & back strengthening.
-Breathing techniques

Week 4:
-Cumulative Review 
-Heart Opening
-Guided muscular relaxation with breathing techniques

Week 5:
-Cumulative Review 
-Sun Salutations

Week 6:
-Basic Flow
-Q & A
