David Burnham Show Sold Out
November 10, 2017
David Burnham's Broadway Voices holiday concert is sold out, but there still is time to get a ticket for Lauren Kennedy's upcoming January concert at the Garner Performing Arts Center.
"We knew that David was one of our most popular artists, but the community response has been overwhelming," said Neal Padgett, president of the Garner Chamber of Commerce and a concert presenter.
Burnham was a star performer in Broadway's "Wicked." He was also featured in "Light in the Piazza" and "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." His special guest performers at the GPAC will be Garner's The Hall Sisters, four sisters whose harmony have earned them spots on the state at Carnegie Hall and the Grand Ole Opry.
Broadway Voices is a concert series that features some of the top performers on Broadway. The leading actors from shows such as "Les Miserables," "Phantom of the Opera," "Wicked," "Beauty and the Beast," "Mary Poppins," "Ragtime," and Pippin" have electrified GPAC audiences.
"When we were putting this season together, we thought it would be one of our most popular group of concerts," Padgett said. "Our season ticket sales have been phenomenal."
A few tickets, available at the GPAC and at the Garner Chamber, remain for Lauren Kennedy's concert on Jan. 13. Hers will be the second concert in the 2017-18 season.
The third concert will be Craig Schulman's Three Phantoms in Concert, which features three actors who have performed the Phantom role.
