Community of Hope BBQ - September 28th

Community of Hope Ministries will host its 6th Annual "All American BBQ" on Friday, September 28th from 11 AM - 7 PM. Plates will include pork bbq, slaw, potatoes, hush puppies, tea or water, and homemade dessert!  Plates are $10 and 100% of the proceeds will support Community of Hope Ministries.

Money raised from the 2018 BBQ will support the addition of a walk-in cooler and freezer at the Community of Hope Ministries food pantry.

The "All American BBQ" will be held on the campus of First Baptist Church of Garner at 601 St. Mary's Street in Garner. 

Drive through and walk-ins are welcome beginning at 11 AM on Friday morning September 28th. Dine-In or Take Out will be available in the Christian Life Center at First Baptist Church of Garner. Lunch deliveries are available for any Garner area business who would like to order 10 or more barbecue plates. Delivery orders must be received by Wednesday, September 28th.

Community of Hope is a Christian non-profit serving the at-risk population in the greater Garner area.  The organization is celebrating its 14th Anniversary this year!  Community of Hope is a member of the Garner Chamber of Commerce and has significant partnerships with many Garner-area businesses, civic organizations, local schools and churches.

The ministry operates a free after school tutoring program for at-risk elementary aged children who are below grade level in reading and in math, Camp Good Hope-a Christian summer day camp and track out program for year round students, a huge food pantry which distributed over 171,500 meals to food insecure children and families in the Garner area last year, a crisis assistance program, a Carpenter's Hands Ministry serving the elderly, widowed and physically challenged, a 16 week Biblically-based job skill readiness program called Jobs for Life, and a large garden called the "Garden of Hope".
