On Saturday, December 16, the Garner Veterans Memorial will host a Wreath Laying and Golden Tree Ceremony to remember its military veterans. The ceremony begins at 10:00 am and is expected to last about thirty minutes.

Garner Native Tim Stevens said, "Garner is the only community that I know of that has a Gold Star Christmas tree. Come place a gold star on the tree for your loved one who gave his or her life while serving in the military. There are 66 stars engraved with the names of the men honored at the Garner Veterans Memorial and about 20 more gold stars engraved with the names of the service men who killed while serving in Garner. There are other stars waiting for your inscription. Please join us for this moving service on Dec. 16, 10 a.m., at the Garner Veterans Memorial."

The Garner Veterans Memorial is located at 921 Buffaloe Rd, Garner, NC 27529.
