Triangle Business Journal on Wednesday revealed the winners of the 2018 Women in Business Awards.
This year’s winners will be recognized at an awards luncheon March 23 at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary. The event begins at 11:30 a.m. and is scheduled to end around 2 p.m.
The accompanying gallery features the 2018 Women in Business Awards winners, listed alphabetically by last name. This year’s class includes decision-makers in law, retail, life sciences, finance and the nonprofit world. The 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award winner will be announced in the coming days.
The Women in Business Awards program recognizes Triangle women who have proven to be dynamic and outstanding leaders with established track records of significant accomplishments in business and/or community service. The judges, a mixture of Triangle business execs and TBJ editorial leadership, pored through more than 150 entries to come up with this year’s crop of winners.
“This year’s class of Women in Business Awards winners represents a vast array of knowledge and influence that spans across the entire Triangle and beyond,” says TBJ Publisher Jason Christie. “We are extremely excited to be able to honor these successful women.”
TBJ will profile the winners in a special section that will be published in the March 23 subscriber edition.
A related event, the fifth-annual Mentoring Monday mini-conference was held Feb. 12 at Vaughn Towers at N.C. State University. It was part of a larger effort that took place in 40 markets across the country on the same day that offered attendees in each market the opportunity to choose from about 40 on-site mentors. Mentors this year included N.C. Secretary of State Elaine Marshall and Elizabeth Doran, president and CEO of the North Carolina Theatre.
