DESCRIPTION:What is the Turkey Day 5K?\n\nThe Turkey Day 5K is a fun\, festive holiday event the whole family can enjoy together a Garner tradition in the making!  And all for a great cause...supporting NC animal shelters and rescues.  Race options include a Competitive 5K\, Recreational 5K and a 1M Fun Run/Walk.  Competitive runners will appreciate the relatively flat course with paved trails\; recreational runners and walkers will enjoy the beauty of White Deer and Lake Benson parks.  Thanksgiving themed costumes\, decorated wagons\, strollers and baby joggers are encouraged.  Well socialized dogs are welcome on a 6' or shorter leash no retractable leashes will be permitted.\n\n\n\nClick here for race details.  Discounts for early registration!

LOCATION:The Turkey Day 5K will begin and end in the Nature Center parking lot of White Deer Park. Please see parking instructions below. Parking The only parking for the event is in Lake Benson Park\, 921 Buffaloe Rd\, Garner. Once parked\, you will be directed to the crosswalk on Buffaloe Rd and from there the White Deer Park Nature Center parking lot. (For those that are unfamiliar with the area\, these parks are across the street from each other.)
