SUMMARY:Women In Business Luncheon 2018
DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendars for our 2018 Women in Business Luncheon on Thursday\, March 22.\n\n\n\nJoin us as we:\n\n	Encourage women in their careers\n	Provide opportunity to network with professional women \n	Provide tips for enriching personal lives\n	Visit with business exhibitors\n	Have fun!\n\n The event features keynote speaker Beth Troutman.\n\n\n\nFrom television personality to motivational speaker\, Beth Troutman's life has been all about taking chances. In 2017\, Troutman left her two-decade career in television to volunteer with Give Hope Global\, an organization helping orphaned children. Cabarrus Magazine said\, "To understand where Beth Troutman is going\, you need to understand where she's been."\n\nAfter earning degrees in Political Science and Women's Studies from UNC-Chapel Hill\, Troutman moved to Hollywood with the goal of putting more positive images of women on the small screen as her driving force. She landed a job at "The West Wing\," where she cold-faxed her resume to the offices of the Emmy-winning television show.\n\n\n\nTroutman continued taking risks by returning to North Carolina to run one of the closest congressional races in the state that year. She was the first woman to run for Congress in North Carolina's 8th district and one of the youngest federal candidates in the country that year.\n\n\n\nAfter her venture with politics\, Troutman's broadcast journalism career took off. Her 20 years in front of the camera includes hosting "Right This Minute\," "The Balancing Act\," and "Fox News Rising\," as well as anchor for NBC-Charlotte's evening newscasts with appearances on "The Today Show" and many more.\n\n\n\nBeth now travels the country speaking to thousands about purpose\, priorities\, success\, and finding joy in a world of sensory overload.\n\n\n\nWe are pleased to present Beth Troutman as the 2018 Garner Women in Business keynote speaker.\n\n\n\nThe event is sponsored by Duke Energy.
