Business After Hours: Hot Summer Nights with Community of Hope & Anfesa's Jewelers

Splish Splash Bash is a fundraiser for Community of Hope Ministries.  The fundraiser is a pool jail-a-thon. Many local politicians, business and civic leaders volunteer to be “arrested” on the afternoon of the event.  The jail where they are held will be in the parking lot at Anfesa’s Jewelers in Garner. In order to make “bail”/get out of the pool – they must raise $1000.  Their friends and co-workers have a great time visiting them in jail.  It is a very fun day!

Community of Hope is a Christian non-profit that operates eight different ministries. We’ve been doing great work in Garner for over 10 years and have outstanding partnerships with the Town of Garner and many local businesses.  The money raised at Splish Splash Bash will go directly to support our ministries, that include:

• After School Program – a free tutoring program that is currently serving 85 students who are below grade level in reading and math and who are economically disadvantaged
• Food Pantry – served over 174,000 meals in 2016
• Camp Good Hope – Summer Camp and Track Out Camp that provides a safe haven for children when school is out
• Crisis Assistance Program – offered financial assistance to more than 100 families for utility bills and rent/mortgage payments in 2016
• Carpenter’s Hands Ministry – offers home repairs to the elderly, widowed and the physically challenged
• Jobs for Life program – program for unemployed and underemployed adults seeking to acquire the skills necessary to be successful in learning and maintaining the skills necessary to be successful in today’s competitive job market.  We just witnessed 5 of our 6 recent graduates secure fantastic new jobs!
• Garden of Hope – grows fresh produce for distribution in our food pantry and is used to teach our summer campers how to grow, harvest and prepare nutritious snacks and meals

Come join us in celebrating Splish Splash Bash at the Garner Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours.  We will have live music by Barbour and Hinton, fantastic food from some of Garner’s favorite restaurants, and we will even be throwing some more “inmates” into the pool!  This event is FREE and open to the public but you do have to register.
